American Full stock percussion rifle with R.& W.C. Biddle & Co. Lock .48 caliber (AL9990) Consignment

NSN, circa 1840-1850, .48 caliber, .38.5" octagonal barrel. Overall length is 53.75", stock has a gorgeous tiger stripe pattern with wood loss visible at the breech. Barrel and other iron parts are a dark grey patina with scattered surface oxidation noted. Lock plate is faintly marked " R. & W.C. Biddle & Co./ Philadelphia.
