French Pair of Percussion target pistols by Gautier a Paris
French Pair of Percussion target pistols cased with all accessories. Barrels are marked in gold "Gautier a Paris". Barrels are 9 1/2" long and the guns are 15 1/2" overall length. Metal parts are engraved with scrolls and very well done. Guns are finished bright with gold lettering. Stocks are beautifully shell carved at the forend and checkered with scalloped borders on the pistol grip. Buttcaps are engraved with steel ovals with a feather or tree frond in the center and then inset into an ebony base. Case is finished in a burl veneer with some repairs to the veneer on the left side of the lid. Lid has a lifting handle.
