Winchester - Model 1866

Serial number 154370. Made in 1880. 44 CF caliber Barrel has a gray patina with some pitting. Frame is nicely engraved in a factory pattern. The wood is replacements. The tang has been repaired and the serial number is restamped.

Serial number124575. Made in 1874. 44 CF caliber with a 24” barrel. The barrel has a gray patina. The frame is nicely engraved. The butt stock is a replacement.

Serial number 25004. Made in 1869. 44 RF caliber with a 20” barrel. This gun is assembled out of parts and is missing the hammer, screws and possibly internals. Buttstock is replacement wood. This could make a good project gun! Consignment.

Serial number 8010. Made circa early 1870s. 44 CF caliber with a 20” barrel. Barrel has a light bray patina with no visible markings. There appears to be disguised repairs near the frame. The butt stock is a replacement. The frame has a very large cut out on the top where the bolt travels through. We are not sure of the purpose. Consignment.

Serial number 114081. Made in the 1870s-1880s. 44 RF caliber with a 20” barrel. This gun has a restamped serial number on a repaired tang. Metal has a dark gray to black patina. Wood is replacements. Consignment.

Serial number 119986. Made in 1874. 44 RF caliber with a 24” barrel. Nice sharp gun with a gray to brown patina on the barrel. Brass is very good. Wood is an original Winchester 1866 stock, but is numbered to a different gun. Consignment.

Serial number 32098. Made in 1870.  44 RF caliber with a 27” barrel. Barrel has a smooth even bluish gray patina. Action has replaced side plates that have a much smaller opening for a cartridge. Wood is good as refinished. Consignment.

Serial number 77682. Made in 1871. 44RF caliber with a 27” barrel . Excellent as restored! Consignment.

Serial number 837341. Made in 1871. 44 RF caliber with a 27” barrel. Barrel has a light gray mottled patina. Barrel bands are missing retaining screws. Wood is very good. Consignment.

Serial number 109777. Made in 1872. 44 CF caliber with a 24” octogen barrel. Barrel shows a dark gray to light brown patina. Brass shows normal wear. Butt stock is a well made replacement as well as the side plates. Consignment.

Serial number 45120. Made in 1870. 44 CF caliber with a 20” barrel.  Nice sharp gun with an even gray patina on barrel. Barrel is from a  later gun. Butt stock is original Winchester 1866 wood that has been made to match the frame. Consignment.

Serial numbers 22741 & 22742. Made in 1869. 44 RF caliber with a 24” barrel. This is a very unique set of early Winchester 1866 rifles with Henry Marked barrels. Serial number 22471 is the better condition of the two guns with a sharp barrel and a smooth brown patina. Brass is very good. Wood is all original with some of the original finish. Serial number 14404. Made in 1866. 44 RF & Centerfire with a 20” barrel. This gun is an exceptional example of a early Winchester 1866. Barrel has a smooth bluish gray patina with original blue in protected areas. Brass is excellent with original blue on the loading gate. Wood is excellent.

Serial number 17837. Made in 1868. 44 RF caliber with a 24” barrel. Very fine early gun with a Henry marked barrel. This gun is factory engraved. Serial number 154170. Made in 1880. 44 Centerfire Caliber with a 20” barrel. Nice sharp gun with a mostly smooth gray patina. Some finish remains in the protected areas. Brass is very good. The butt stock is a replacement from a Winchester 1873.

Serial number 153491. Made in 1880. 44 RF caliber with a 20” barrel. Barrel has an even brown patina. Frame has a coat of varnish added. Butt stock is a replacement model 1873 stock. 

Serial number 149099. Made in 1878. 44 Center fire caliber with 20” barrel. The barrel has a very pleasing plumb colored patina. Wood is very good. Very attractive Winchester 1866 carbine!

Serial 50517. Made in 1870. 44 RF caliber with a 27” barrel. Very fine musket with a nice sharp barrel. Barrel has a smooth bluish gray patina. Wood has been refinished.
